Prepare Your Home for an All-Electric Future

Modern homes are using electricity in more ways than ever. Heat pumps, electric water heaters, EV chargers, solar panels, battery storage, and other upgrades can significantly change the demands placed on your electrical system.
Installing a SPAN smart panel can help prepare your home for these changes while giving you tools to better understand and manage your energy use. Instead of upgrading to another traditional panel, you can invest in technology designed around the way homes are becoming increasingly electrified.
If you are planning several home upgrades, our electricians can look at the bigger picture and help you understand how a SPAN panel can fit into your plans. Because Ballard also works with heating, cooling, plumbing, and other home systems, our team can help you consider your electrical needs alongside the equipment you may want to add now or in the future.

Yes, and this is where it earns its place for a lot of homes. It lets you prioritize which circuits run on backup power and change that from the app as an outage goes on, instead of committing to a fixed set of backed up circuits when it is installed.

Since 1993. We have been locally-led and operated that whole time, which is more than thirty years working on homes in this region. That matters more than it sounds: Puget Sound housing stock runs from 1920s bungalows to new construction, and the right answer for one is rarely the right answer for the other.
Often the same day. If you call before 1pm we can usually get a technician to you that day, and members of our 5 Star Maintenance Plan go to the front of the queue. Our vans are stocked, so most common repairs are finished on the first visit rather than waiting on a part.
It depends on what you want. If you need more capacity and nothing else, a standard upgrade is cheaper. If you are adding solar, a battery or an EV, or you want to avoid a service upgrade by managing load, the smart panel often earns the difference. We will lay out both.
A smart electrical panel that replaces your conventional one and gives you circuit level monitoring and control from an app. You can see what each circuit is using and control circuits individually, which a conventional panel cannot do at all.
Two things mainly. Seeing where your electricity goes circuit by circuit, which is usually surprising. And managing load intelligently, which can let a home add an EV charger or a heat pump without a full service upgrade, because the panel manages peaks rather than sizing for them.
It is our annual maintenance membership. Members get discounted annual maintenance, priority service, no overtime charges, a discounted diagnostic fee that is free at the Platinum level, an extended repair warranty, discounted water heater service, and a reminder when your maintenance is due. Members who call before 1pm can usually be seen the same day.
A three year labor warranty on our work as standard, plus a Lifetime Workmanship Warranty. Manufacturer warranties on the equipment itself run separately and vary by brand and model. A Comfort Shield Extended Warranty is available if you want coverage beyond that, and we will explain what each one covers before you decide.
